Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about what this is, what it isn't, and how it works.
What is Signals & Structure?
Signals & Structure is a set of plain-English tools and frameworks that help you understand your parenting plan, organize your family law case, and walk into mediation or a hearing prepared. It turns a pile of messages, filings, and receipts into one clear, structured picture you control. It is educational and organizational, built for self-represented parents and co-parents.
Is this legal advice?
No. Signals & Structure is an educational and organizational tool. It does not give legal advice, tell you what to file, or predict what a judge will do, and it is not a substitute for a licensed attorney. It helps you organize your own information so you can think clearly, communicate calmly, and work more effectively with the professionals who can advise you. Always verify deadlines, rules, and any legal citation with official sources and licensed counsel.
Who is this for?
Parents and co-parents navigating a high-conflict separation, custody matter, or family law case — whether you are fully self-represented or working alongside an attorney and want to lower your legal costs by arriving organized. If you feel buried in messages and paperwork and unsure what actually matters, this was built for you.
How does it work?
Each tool gives you a framework plus a guided prompt you load into an AI assistant you already use, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot. The assistant walks you through the work step by step, organizing your information into clear logs, timelines, and summaries. You do not need to be technical and you do not need to code. Most people are up and running in under an hour.
Do I need a special AI tool or subscription?
No special software. The tools work with the major AI assistants, and the free versions of those assistants are enough to get started. You paste in a guided prompt, answer a few setup questions, and the assistant does the organizing with you.
What are the products and how do they fit together?
One ladder, three tiers, and you can start anywhere. Each tier includes everything below it.
Add-on:
What do I actually receive when I buy?
A digital kit you download right away. Each kit includes the guided AI prompt, the templates and workbooks for that tool, a quick-start onboarding guide, sample (redacted) outputs so you can see the finished result, and our license and disclaimer document. Nothing is shipped; everything is delivered digitally.
Will my private information stay private?
Yes — and by design. Signals & Structure never stores your documents. Your files stay in your own inbox, drive, and folders; the tools organize information where it already lives, and every export belongs to you. We recommend removing full names, addresses, and account numbers before pasting sensitive documents into any AI tool. The system works just as well on redacted text using initials and labels like "the child" or "the other party." Never paste passwords, Social Security numbers, or financial account numbers.
What is your refund policy?
Because the kits are digital and delivered instantly, they cannot be returned and sales are final. But if something is wrong, reach out within 10 days and we will make it right.
How is this different from a co-parenting app like OurFamilyWizard or TalkingParents?
Those apps are where communication happens. Signals & Structure is how you make sense of it. Our tools help you understand your plan, sort what matters from what is just loud, build a clean record and timeline, and prepare for the conversations that count — using information from any source, including exports from those apps. They also charge every parent an annual subscription; our tools are one-time purchases you keep.
